Refund policy

At Just Kidding! Improv Collective, we want every family to have a positive experience with our improv community. We understand that plans and circumstances can change, and we've outlined our refund, cancellation, and merchandise return policies below.

1. Semester Enrollment & Cancellations

Our semester programs are designed as a complete experience, with curriculum, staffing, studio space, and, where applicable, after-school pickup arrangements planned around enrollment.

If you need to withdraw your child from a semester program, please notify us in writing at hello@justkiddingco.com. Your cancellation will be handled in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws and the terms below.

2. Refunds for Semester Programs

If you cancel your enrollment after making a payment, any refund will be calculated based on the services already provided, any cancellation fee permitted by law, and any other amounts that may lawfully be retained.

For covered future-services contracts under New York City Rule § 5-31, the amount retained may include:

• A cancellation fee of 5% of the cash price, or $50, whichever is less.
• The portion of the contract price attributable to lessons or services received.
• Other costs only where expressly permitted by applicable law.

Any refund required by law will be issued within the legally required timeframe.

3. Early-Bird, Pre-Enrollment & Promotional Discounts

Early-bird pricing, pre-enrollment offers, sibling discounts, and other promotions are subject to the terms disclosed at the time of purchase.

If a student withdraws from a discounted enrollment, any refund will be calculated using the actual amount paid for the enrollment, including applicable discounts, and in accordance with applicable law.

Promotional pricing does not waive any cancellation or refund rights provided by law.

4. Sibling Discounts & Buddy Offers

Sibling discounts and buddy offers are applied according to the terms of the promotion at the time of purchase.

If one child withdraws while another remains enrolled, the cancellation and refund for the withdrawing child's enrollment will be assessed separately, taking into account the original transaction, discounts applied, services received, and applicable law.

5. After-School Pickup Programs

Programs that include after-school pickup involve additional planning and coordination.

If a child withdraws from a program that includes pickup, any refund will be calculated under the same cancellation terms applicable to the enrollment, subject to applicable law.

6. Missed Classes & Absences

We understand that children may occasionally miss class because of illness, travel, family commitments, or other circumstances.

Missed classes do not automatically qualify for a separate refund or make-up class, except where required by applicable law or expressly offered by Just Kidding! Improv Collective.

Please contact us if your family is experiencing an unexpected circumstance. We will do our best to communicate with care and explore any available options.

7. Merchandise Returns, Exchanges & Refunds

We want you to love your Just Kidding! merchandise! The following terms apply to physical merchandise purchased through our website.

Return requests

You may request a return or exchange within 14 days of receiving your merchandise. To be eligible for a return for a change of mind, items must be unused, unworn, unwashed, and in their original condition, with any original tags or packaging intact.

Please contact hello@justkiddingco.com before sending an item back so we can provide return instructions. Items returned without prior authorization may experience processing delays.

Refunds

Once an eligible return is received and inspected, we will notify you whether your refund has been approved. Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method. Please allow additional time for your payment provider to process the refund.

Original shipping charges and return shipping costs are not refundable for change-of-mind returns, except where required by law or otherwise stated at the time of purchase.

Exchanges

If you need a different size or would like to exchange an eligible item, please email us within 14 days of receiving your order. Exchanges are subject to stock availability. If the requested replacement is unavailable, we can discuss an alternative or refund where appropriate.

Incorrect, damaged, or defective merchandise

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or different from what you ordered, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and, where helpful, photographs of the issue. We will work with you to arrange an appropriate replacement, exchange, repair, or refund as required by applicable law.

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under applicable consumer protection laws.

Personalized or made-to-order merchandise

Items made specifically to your specifications or personalized at your request may not be eligible for change-of-mind returns, except where required by law or where the item is defective, damaged, or incorrectly supplied.

Third-party fulfillment

Some merchandise may be printed, packaged, or shipped by a third-party fulfillment provider. This does not affect your rights under this policy or applicable consumer protection laws. Please contact Just Kidding! Improv Collective directly with any return or refund request.

8. Program Changes or Cancellations by Just Kidding!

If Just Kidding! Improv Collective cancels a class or is unable to provide a purchased service, we will communicate with affected families and provide an appropriate make-up class, credit, or refund as required by the circumstances and applicable law.
